Fitting It In

July/August Inspiration.....
Ok folks!! I know its warm outside and you'd rather be doing something else than your gym workouts. My question to you is "What are you gonna do to keep that motivation going?"
In my Group PT sessions I am always trying new ideas to challenge my clients. In my group X classes I am always looking for new music and choreography to keep things fresh. New healthy recipes to try and sometimes a new pair of runners to break in will keep things on track.
Trying new activities, getting your cardio outdoors, such as cycling to work or hiking the Grouse Grind is a great way to mix things up and enjoy the summer weather. Plan to maintain your muscles with a circuit-style workout twice a week, using lots of full-body movements. Not only is this a quick and efficient way to train, it will burn more calories and drop bodyfat faster.
Personally, I like having a bit of air-conditioning in my life when i workout so that I can push hard, reap the benefits and keep injury free. When I 'play' outside this is just the icing on the cake in my overall plan.
Have fun and remember to not let go of your goals--september is just around the corner!!
